It can only read at 40hz and 1khz and it's entirely that an amp can be clipping at different frequencies the meter can't see.

So if I wanna do something like set an LC7i to 5v out at max then set a 5ch amp to -7.5db on 1-4 and watt match a sub to the sub channel I can do it in about 60 seconds with one tool.Īlso, as a professional I can write down the gain overlaps on the work order the customer gets and when the sub comes back fried I can quickly check to see if the knobs were fiddled with cause I have a tool that can read it avoiding unnecessary warranty claims with hard data. The DD1+ also has a true RMS voltage readout and allows you to set custom overlaps all without removing the tool. You may be able to do things like overlaps using different tones but then you're limited to the overlaps of those specific tones. The base DD1 just tells you when the signal clips.
